Napoleon once commented that Britain was a nation of shopkeepers. Military genius he was. Retail analyst he wasn’t. Over the 200+ years since Waterloo it turns out that Britain has actually developed into a nation of tech lovers, according to the latest research conducted by YouGov on behalf of supply chain and commerce experts, Manhattan Associates.

Findings show that technology will be the overwhelming winner from Black Friday 2020, with 55% expecting to buy some kind of new gadget on Friday the 27th — followed by clothing (37%) and household goods (32%).

However, it’s not just the purchases themselves that are tech-focused this year, it is actually the purchase and delivery methods that are becoming more tech driven too.
